Yin Ling (Venus) had worked in Nokia Research Center as a research engineer for 7 years prior to joining TimeFirst in March 2006. She had developed proposals and became the project manager of "low power research for mobile services". She had also helped forming the Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) Forum Low Power Task Force in 2004 and developed related technical requirements. Later, she became one of the technical authors of the UPnP Forum Low Power Working Committee. In addition, she had also assisted in road mapping for DSLAM product by following industrial trend and development, and developed prototypes that led to new product features.
Venus has worked in various technologies concerning wireless communication and networking, including web services, UPnP, MPLS, policy based management, Service Level Agreement (SLA) monitoring, UMTS, CDMA2000, routing, QoS, performance evaluation, DRM and XML security. She has also done implementation in Symbian, C, C++ and Java, and has done porting from Linux to Symbian platforms.
Venus has received her BS in Information Engineering from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and her MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Wisconsin Madison. In 2006, she has also received her MBA from Babson College in Massachusetts. In her MBA, she has focused on topics such as Business Environment in Asia, Marketing High-Tech Products and Global Strategies.
